Responding to the boss’s questions - a management training course

How can you respond to the boss’s questions?  The boss will probably find the second of the two responses below more helpful and impressive than the first:

• answering the a question as quickly as you can, giving all the detail you can think of,
• trying thoughtfully to understand the concern behind the question, giving the boss a chance to say more about it, and then addressing the concern.
   

This is a listening skill.  Being very good at listening will help you respond well to the boss’s questions.  You can develop and practise it on our highly acclaimed London UK management training course, “Skills with People”.
