Dealing with hostility - a management training course

Here’s an emotionally intelligent way of lowering the temperature when you’re dealing hostility:

  • Instead of retaliating, count to ten and be aware of your own fear or anger at being treated like this.
  • Observe the emotional energy in the person being hostile.
  • Encourage them to talk about it: “You seem very angry”, followed by a pause inviting them to get it safely off their chest.

You can develop and practise your skill at dealing with hostility, as well as a wide range of other emotionally difficult interactions, on our highly acclaimed London UK management training course, “Skills with People”.

But how can you be sure this training in dealing with hostility is for you?
