Being more forceful - a management training course
How can you be more forceful? No need to shout. Just learn to do it this way:
- Say clearly how you feel, what about and why – for example: “I’m not happy about your time-keeping because it’s setting a bad example.”
- Say it only once, and pause to give weight to your words.
- Refuse to be drawn into argument by a response like, “I’m not the only one”.
- Instead of arguing, say, “Now I’m worried for your sake because you don’t seem to be taking me seriously.”
To be able to do this whenever you need to may need training and practise. You can obtain both on our highly acclaimed London UK management training course, “Skills with People”.
But how can you be sure this training in being more forceful is for you?
