Gould Training

What's unusual about the training?

1.  The first one-to-one session is free
Everyone who comes on the course has a free exploratory session before committing themselves.  More

2.  Masses of individual help and coaching
There are four  private and confidential one-to-one coaching sessions in the programme.  Why so many?  It's because we aim not only to give you new skills  but also to help you lay aside old habits  - old patterns of thought and speech - which can undermine new skills.  These will have been reinforced by a lifetime of practice and be deeply ingrained.  Laying them aside means not only becoming aware of them but also unlearning  them.  It's a very personal process, and everyone's different.  It can be challenging, but if we don't help you do it you're likely to revert under pressure back at work.

3.  It mixes together people at different levels of management
Mightn't that be a problem?  No, in practice it isn't a problem at all.  On this  course such differences are an advantage, provided you don't work for the same organisation.  The skills taught are relevant and valuable at all levels.  They're the skills needed to treat people with honesty and courtesy irrespective of status.  It's very valuable for a senior person to receive candid feedback about how he comes across to a junior person, and vice-versa.  We'll show you how to give helpful and constructive feedback without seeming to be patronising.  It's one of the most valuable things you'll learn.
