Giving Feedback Constructively Managment Training Course

Giving feedback - training for managers

Some people are so uncomfortable about giving feedback that they avoid it altogether.  Others do it in a way which makes you feel offended, attacked, or demoralised.  Still others in their effort not to give offence come across without conviction.  And others, when they give praise, or positive feedback, do it in a way that makes the recipient feel patronised – or they avoid doing it for fear of sounding patronising (see praising without patronising, praising and criticising, receiving criticism).

The problem with giving feedback is how to be strong enough to be taken seriously yet friendly enough to win co-operation, how to be "tough on the issue yet soft on the person", how to be firm yet fair.

On the London based "Skills with People" course participants will practise giving feedback constructively in a way that doesn't run the risk of either antagonising or patronising people.
